A real milestone for us this year was announcing that we have raised the funds of £33,500 (increase due to exchange rate) for the electricity project in Dembi Dollo to supply electricity for 1500 people. We thought that this was a project beyond our fund-raising capability but with much effort and great support from friends and family the people in the region of Dembi Dollo will very soon have the joy of electricity.

We spoke with Sister Terfatu at great lengths as to the way forward and she is 100% confident that the committee in Dembi Dollo have everything in hand with the authorities to make it happen. Sister Terfatu will monitor progress once we transfer the funds and will be visiting the area in September and will provide an update on the project. We will visit the area again once the project is up and running.
