Day Care

The Day Care Centre goes from strength to strength it is now a strong part of the local community. Ethiopiahope now sponsors 32 children who for £75.00 per year receive education, food, clothing and medical support. The centre always has a real happy feel to it this being a product of the excellent attention the teachers give all the children which now totals over 200. We took out several space hoppers this year which were a real success with the children and a couple of the teachers.

School

The project is also sponsoring 33 children above 6 years old in the mainstream Catholic school, the cost to send a child to school is between £100 - £130 depending on which grade they are, this covers education, clothes and lunches. We also support two children in local school and the cost covers food, clothes and transport. We always hope that the children supported by the project in Day Care will go on to the Catholic school but this is not always the case due to the children’s capability. Those that do not go to the Catholic School will go to the state school but with a good grounding from Day Care. The project sponsored children in the Catholic school also receive extra education during the raining season from volunteers.
