July 2017

During the 13 years we have been going to Ethiopia we have made many lifelong friends and some of these friends treat us as family. From our early years we would play football and fly kites most evenings with a group of boys in their teens. As they grew older the project supported them with school and college fees and funds to start work. These boys now are young men and some have children of their own. This year we were invited for coffee by three of these in their own homes. A proud moment.

• Aweke is in full time work as a paint salesman he owns a house and a motorbike. • Mulla and his wife both work for the Government they rent their house and are the proud parents of a beautiful daughter.

• Asanage Is a qualified teacher but is currently working as a computer programmer for the Government.

• Gashow works as a tailor he and his wife have a two-year-old son they are currently renting their house but have purchased some land and are seeking permission to build. Gashow also looks after his sister Bethlehem. She is in school and her fees are paid by the project.

• Gadefew is a qualified engineer he has met a young lady from Malta and is due to marry her in July and live in Malta. We are planning to go and represent his family at the wedding.

A small amount of help and a will to succeed has given all these lads a fantastic life.
