The Sewing Project

Sister Tefartu leads a sewing project where local men and woman can learn to be Tailors. They train by making dresses and school uniforms for the poor and bags and table clothes to sell mainly to unsuspecting foreigners.

The sewing project is is still going very well and now with the new building complete weaving will start as soon as the equipment has been bought.  This will also enable us to train and support even more men and women.

The aim of the sewing project is to get the people who take part to a level where they can go out on their own with a loan from the school to purchase a sewing machine and a small shop type premises.
