Housing Update
In total this year we had 12 houses built and two existing
houses had new roofs. We also purchased a piece of land for one
of the houses to be built on. The cost of materials has
increased vastly; a bag of cement has increased three fold from
last year.
The corrugated iron for the roofs increased by £2.00 a sheet
in the month we were there. The average cost now of a house is
£150. The houses are very basic but what they do is give hope
and shelter for families as well as livestock.
All the houses we had built last year are still in good
repair. The occupants are well and those that had wells are
growing vegetables and some have enough to sell.
